back to work

I can't believe it's already over. Thanksgiving break has come and gone and it's time to get back to work. I'm so sad about it and I know I shouldn't be, I should be thankful that I even got a break but now looking ahead to this full week of work I don't know what to do! Does it ever get easier? I mean does anyone like going to work? I'm sure some people do and I just need one of those jobs. What are they? I've already talked to Lori about opening her own bakery so I can work there!
Oh I did bake my first dessert as mentioned in my previous post. It went really good. It was pretty easy so I can't take all the credit but I'm still getting compliments on it. I felt very proud. I only had a taste of it because there were so many other desserts I had to try and ever since just thinking about any Thanksgiving dessert or food makes me sick. We definitely stuffed ourselves to the brim with two Thanksgiving dinners. Two is less than normal for us, usually we have three and this year we were only supposed to have one so at the first dinner we ate and ate, but then we ended up heading to the next house for 'dessert' only to find a whole other Thanksgiving meal waiting for us and no one would take NO for an answer. I guess at least we have food to eat on Thanksgiving. Too bad it isn't more spread out, like over a week or so.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving usually isn't my favorite holiday, in fact I could probably do without it. It's just a day of sitting around and eating until you feel like you might throw up and have to unbutton your pants so you don't. What's so fun about that? But this year is different. For some reason I'm really excited. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and spending time with our families is much more fun or maybe it's the time off of work or possibly all the good food? Probably a mix of all of these things but I am really excited.
I actually even have a cooking assignment this year. That's right they put me in charge of a dessert. I'm very nervous, does this mean I'm really one of the grown-ups now? I'll have to take some pictures of my creation once I'm done . . .if it turns out that is.
I wish it was just Wednesday in the PM already. Instead I'm sitting at work in front of the computer dreaming of better days.

Redemption.

So Zack was pretty sad at me for posting that picture of him with his beard "in memory" because he thought it was a terrible picture. I on the other hand, think it's really cute. But just so I can redeem myself, here's a new picture. Maybe he'll like this one better. He's hot.

Addiction

So I'm doing it. I'm attempting to quit. It's been since Thursday and I'm already dying. How does it happen? How did I let myself get so into a soda that I can't quit? It's kind of strange. I wouldn't think of myself as an addict but I guess I am. I'm addicted to candy too. I don't think I could go a day without it. So one thing at a time. I've just been reading all this bad stuff about soda lately and I'm sure they can find something bad with anything, at least it seems like it. But I thought I would at least give it a shot and see what happens. Water will have to become my new staple and friend.

With All This Negativity . . .

I thought I better say something positive about the weather getting colder. I get to wear my favorite scarf! I bought it last year and I think I've worn it way too much already (as many of you know) but I just can't get enough of it. I don't know what it is, but it has definitely been one of my best purchases. Thank you scarf for bringing me so much happiness. See there is one good thing about cold weather.

Missing you . . .

This is my bike. Zack surprised me with it for graduation. I was/am so excited. I only have been able to ride it about 6 times now and I'm dying to go out for a ride in the nice warm sun. I'm longing for springtime already and fall isn't even over is it? I know I've written about this before in a recent post but why does it have to get dark so early? I'm feeling so confined. I think I just need to get back into gym mode because I've definitely lost that. Who wants to be my motivator?

In Memory . . .

This is for Zack so he can remember. He FINALLY shaved and I'm so happy to see his face again. But here is proof he really did it. He grew a beard. I'm so proud of my manly man.

Dark?

I know this isn't a good picture but I just can't believe this is what I saw when I got home from work last night. Why? I am not ready for this. I can't believe how dark it gets so early. I guess I've forgotten already from last year how much I don't like it. I feel like my day is over as soon as I get out of work. I'm not ready to give up my summer.

Out of Towners . . .

Ellie cries everytime anyone pulls out a camera, she hates pictures. I told her she's too cute to hate pictures but that didn't seem to help. She wasn't very happy.

My niece Lauren, never serious.

Zack . . .such a cute uncle.
